Reickart, Joan M.
Of Brant, NY suffered for many years with several serious illnesses, but at last was given rest on February 5, 2021. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lucy and Michael Albano, wife of the late Sherman Reickart Sr. and sister of Marylou and Elizabeth (Betty) who predeceased her. She is survived by her sisters Phyllis and Rose and brothers Gene and Michael. Joan was the loving mother of Sherry (Sparks), Barbara Reickart, Sherman Reickart Jr., David Reickart and his wife Cindy. She loved and doted on her grandchildren Kim, Amy, Kyle, Justin and his wife Heather, Jordan and great grandchildren Marissa, Jennifer, Hannah, Ava, Noah, Kiera and Maverick.
Joan was intellectually ahead of her time, an accomplished woman in her own right, and an avid advocate for female empowerment. After seeing her four children off to college, Joan resumed her own education, starting with her GED and continuing on to earn her MSW from UB School of Social Work. Joan had a fulfilling career healing others, working for County and State, as a New York State licensed social worker focusing on areas directly related to her field of graduate studies. She will be missed by all. Funeral services are private. Arrangements by the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC.
