Mesi, Joseph J. “Coach” Of Angola, NY, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Sally Mesi. Loving father of Monica O’Connor (Mesi) and Joseph (Danielle) Mesi. Son of Sally and the late Matthew Mesi. Dear brother of Chris (Lori) Mesi, Matthew M. (Colleen) Mesi, and Mary Alice Mazur. Cherished Giant and Grandpa Joe of Alexis, Joseph and Henry. Friends may call on Sunday, January 25th from 2PM – 6PM at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 262 N. Main St. Angola, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 12 PM at Most Precious Blood Church, 22 Prospect St., Angola, NY. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Joe was a retired business teacher with Eden Central Schools. Known to many as “Coach,” he was a diehard sports fan, especially when it came to the Buffalo Bills and college football and basketball. Known for his quick wit and steady presence, Joe made a lasting impact on his students and colleagues. Whether he was reliving his days playing football at Marshall, basketball at Husson, or explaining the success of the basketball teams on the close-knit island where they spent 13 years, Joe truly lived a great life. His legacy is reflected in the countless lives he touched. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, and he was an irreplaceable friend, family member, and mentor.
