Obituary of Shirley A. Smardz
Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Shirley Ann “She She” Smardz, 80, of Hamburg, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior and was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas, on the morning of December 10, 2025.
Born in 1945, Shirley was a devoted daughter, a faithful servant of Christ, and a loving mother to Tommy Jr. (Traci) Smardz and Kevin Smardz. She was the cherished daughter of the late Shirley Preshoot. She is preceded in death by her sister, Judith Atzrott, and survived by her sisters Janet (Jack) Benedict, Harriet Preshoot and brother Carl (Tracy) Preshoot. She was a treasured grandmother to Matthew, Emilee, Eric, and Joseph, and is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love and ministry.
Answering God’s call, Shirley entered full-time ministry and faithfully co-founded and pastored Southtowns Christian Center for 35 years. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ guided every step she took. She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her deep compassion for others, and her lifelong devotion to sharing the hope of God’s Word.
