Obituary
Obituary of Noreen D Senecal
Please share a memory of Noreen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Noreen Senecal of Fredonia, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on October 24, 2025, she was 79. Originally from Schenectady, New York, Noreen was a proud graduate of Linton High School. She moved with her family to Western New York in 1981. She spent her professional career supporting others in education - serving as administrative assistant to the Superintendent of Schools in Cohoes, New York, and later the Buffalo Teachers Federation. She served St Vincent de Paul Church in Evans as choir director and organist. She had a lifelong passion for baseball, education and animals. Affectionately known as “Grammy,” Noreen regaled her grandchildren with “stuffed animal surgeries,” repaired beloved blankets, snuck treats when no one was looking, and joyfully celebrated every milestone with her children and grandchildren. A devoted Yankees and Bills fan, Noreen could talk stats, call plays before the announcers, and occasionally yell at the TV with unmatched enthusiasm.
Noreen is survived by her children Cherie McAuley (Daniel); Michelle Meli (Charlie); and Rob Senecal (Kym Persinger). She leaves behind many beloved grandchildren including Danielle Blanton (Jake), Robert Senecal III, Jonathan Saeli, Molly Reed (Aaron), Joseph Zydel, and Amber Meli; and great-grandchildren Ashton Jay Reed (12) and Theodore Blanton (2). We would be remiss to not mention her furry grandchildren that will miss her as well.
A celebration of Noreen’s life will be held on November 8, 2025, at the ADDISON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 262 N. Main St. Angola New York, from 10:00Am-12:00 Noon where Prayer services will follow at 12 noon. Family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and maybe cheer on the Buffalo Bills in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cleveland Clinic (https://my.clevelandclinic.org/giving). This incredible hospital and its compassionate staff cared for Mom (and our entire family) with deep respect and kindness. They used every resource available in her final months to extend her time with us and give us the precious gift of a few more moments together.
